וחשבתי שזה יכול מאוד לעזור:
(וסליחה על האנגלית - אין לי זמן לתרגם כרגע)
Subject: "The pee button", or technique I've had good success with.
On the subject of weeing I posted this to the Oz Nappy free group, and
it has helped people there, so I thought I'd post here for other
newies to try out:
Since beginning natural infant hygiene, or actually before while
reading the book when preggers, I thought about how when we had
kittens in the house we would watch the mother cat come in, roll the
kitten over and lick it's lower belly, the kitten would then do its
business for her to "clean up". I thought, we're all mammals, surely
it is an instinctual technique.
I tried this earlier on, (technique below - not licking!) but couldn't
well get co-ordinated with a floppy newborn. I remembered it again
recently (Maven is 3 months) and since he has been having trouble
relaxing at night - arching, crying, falling asleep etc, I tried it -
and BAM - massive piddle session. Since then I have done it many
times, and 9 out of 10 it seems to help prompt a BIG bladder
relaxation - especially when he is stressed, like after waking up
after a longish sleep with a full bladder, and crying about it, then
he feels better. Also before bed, if he has a bit to get out before an
outing, or while we have the opportunity when out, but no iminent
signalling. I've been calling it his "pee button" in recent days, it's
beed so effective.
The technique is to hold baby in usual classic position, more leaning
back on arm or belly, and to 'tickle" his lower belly with one finger
- just above I guess where his bladder would be. It really helps a
full emptying be achieved, rather than several shorter pees as
sometimes seems the case. How does this work for others? It would be
interesting to know...
